ILL RETURNS!

Jun 23, 2006 10:58

tell me why...

must everyone who is returning an ILL hand the book to you, rather than put it in the drop?

sometimes i feel sassy and i say, "you can put it in the drop... it all ends up at the same place."

yet they undoubtedly give me a look of insecurity. i'm not lying.

ok. that's it.

Aha, the reason why, is that the cover of an ILL book says something scary like "if you don't give this book to an employee then we don't know you turned it in" I think it also says something about not putting it in outside drop boxes. Lemme check...actually it says "ILL books must be turned in at the circulation desk ONLY. If you put this book in a drop box then your fingers will be severd by many tiny knives."

"And here in the older part of the library we'll find two super cool things. First is the great reading room (shh be very quiet) and second are the stacks (watch out, they're so old and 'stacky' that you might run into a ghost that will scream at you 'WHY THE HELL ARE YOU STILL CALLING THE DECKS THE STACKS AND THE STACKS THE DECKS?!? THE DECKS ARE PART OF THE STACKS YOU DUMBSHIT! WHO IS MISINFORMING OUR VISITORS??!?!' at which point it will be too late to tell him that it was me, your glorious tour guide, because he or she will be eating your soul) Any questions? alright, well now we'll head over to the canyon garden which was actually part of the original library..."
