Celebrityism

I saw this thing on one of those obnoxious celeb-chasing magazine shows today and I've had enough of hearing about the whole Kobe Bryant sexual assault situation. Celebrities are over-rated and people need to get over them. Someone just lip-syncs good or can slam dunk a basketball and all of a sudden they achieve demi-god status, which is just ( Read more... )

If Kobe Bryant sexually assaulted her, I blame him. If she lured him and got him to do what she says he did, then I'd say she's a money-grubbing hoe. No one except the both of them will ever know what really happened.

Personally, if I was a celeb, I think i'd have a tape recorder or cam or something in places wher eI would be with people "alone" just in case, so if someone tried to accuse me of something, then people would see the video or hear the audio tape and know that they are full of shit. Of course, Nixon tape-recorded everything that he did and he screwed himself over majorly...

SO what celebrities are you impressed with?

About farmers, wehn I was in NC, my uncle told me about this guy that he knows that hasn't planted a thing for 15 years, b/c he just goes to the gov't and DOES NOT plant the things that the gov't tells you not to plant AND he gets money for every crop that he doesn't plant.

All I need to do now to start this money-making scheme is buy agricultural land in Homestead, make sure that it is marked as "agricultural" and start not planting!

Your last paragraph, the listing of what celebs teach you is pretty right on!

Heh. When my older sister turned on the TV to watch Fox News, they were talking about Kobe. I was like, "What's up with him?" My sister told me that he assaulted a girl.

I was like "Celebrities can just go and break laws because they CAN get away with it."

I have bad memories. (Yes I have been sexually assaulted before.) So this hit a little too close for my personal comfort.

I wish if they did it, they'd be in JAIL for 20 years. That's my take on it. Celebrities are just people given idol status by the common because that's the "American dream" = to be an actor or actress. How sad is that?

I happen to think common people like teachers are so much better than celebrities who shoplift (and blame their mental illnesses) or rape/assault and just get away with community service or 2 months in jail compared to a lifetime ... this society is really screwed up, IMHO.

In all honesty celebrities have worst lives. Sure they get to get away with stuff and they get to wear the ugliest clothes, and still have it thought as fashion, but they have no privacy. It must be cool at first but after a while it would be horrible. all the stuff we do everyday...along with 500 people following you.

So you would never wanna be a celebrity?

Hmmm, I am maybe a little bit of an attention whore, b/c I think it would be fun to be famous, but for somethign good, but I think if I was a celeb that I would dress incognito (in disguise) when I went to places like the supermarket or the mall. You know, dress in things like trenchcoats or dark sunglasses, and maybe even fake facial hair.

My sister is in NY and passes by fmaous people like Jewel alot but she says it is "etiquette" there to jsut let them go and not bother them since they're people too and deserve their privacy and the ability to walk on the streets without being bothered.
