Movie recs, please?

Last week, I posted about having read an admittedly not-very-good biography of Cary Grant, and was all hyped up over the author's suggestion that he was bi, and... Well, I've deleted that post. For one thing, I was curious to see what other readers thought of that particular biography; I cracked up (and winced) when multiple reviews likened it to ( Read more... )

you know, it's hard to think of a really *bad* Cary Grant movie! Bringing Up Baby has long been one of my Top Ten movies, but there are lots of others that I enjoyed. even when the movie itself isn't terrific, his breezy style is just plain fun

Must-See (imo):
North by Northwest
To Catch a Thief
Notorious
His Girl Friday

Worth Watching:
Father Goose
Charade
Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House
The Bishop's Wife
Topper

I love the bits in 'A&OL' where he's muttering to himself, and his double takes.

The ones that sound interesting to me are The Awful Truth, Operation Petticoat, and Father Goose. Will definitely be re-watching Bringing Up Baby, since it's been so long. Keep the recs coming, please!

I asked my parents and grandmother, too, and this is what I got from them:

Grandmom: Charade!
Mom: Topper!
Dad: To Catch A Thief! No, wait, His Girl Friday! No, no, North By Northwest! No...hold on...

I love it when my dad reveals his inner fanboy.
