... I was with my friend Seana (no longer on LJ, sadly) in a teeny-tiny club in Buffalo, New York. We were there to see the Headstones, and when they came on, Hugh Dillon was mesmerizing. At one point he said to the crowd, "This is highly inappropriate - there's a little girl in the front row, and I'm about to sing a song about necrophilia ( Read more... )

Actually, Mr. Hugh Dillon got together with the rest of the band for a short reunion tour last month in Canada. I was dying inside not being able to attend. There is a Hugh Dillon community (see my profile page) that has pictures, video and set lists of the various shows they did!

How is Seana, do you know? It's definitely too bad she left LJ (although I have no idea what her reasons were and couldn't fault whatever they were).

I saw the Headstones twice, but once was before I was actually familiar with them -- aside from having heard them in dS scenes. The other was at a big music festival kind of thing in Sarnia (where I was totally thinking Ray V.'s "Fraser, if I'm ever in Sarnia, shoot me with a big gun" the whole time even though it didn't seem a bad place), so, they played just a brief set. I'd love to see them again; I had no idea about that reunion tour either, alas.

I saw Seana a few years ago and she seemed to be doing well. I haven't heard from her lately, unfortunately. I don't know why she left either. It's sad.

Were you at the festival in August of 2001? That was the second time I saw them and it was very cool. They were the last act up, so it would've been less than a full set but I don't remember how many songs they played. I thought Sarnia was a nice little town, and I definitely remember being wowed by how blue Lake Huron was! Ah, the things that stick in our memories...
