It had been a few weeks since he had been dumped in the village, and aside from his less than hospitable almost-dining-experience at the breakfast restaurant, things were going okay. He'd been to a party, walked around the town and attempted to read the building signs and could paraphrase most of what was written on them. Needless to say he had found "bar" easy enough, and had wandered in.

Seated at the bar, head bowed as he stared into the bubbling amber ale set before him, Hugo caught the movement out of the corner of his eyes, looking over at none other than the redheaded soldier, Babe, right? Lifting his own glass, the man nodded lightly, the corner of his mouth lifting into a partial smile.

It was almost a 'hey come over' from the man, or so Babe thought. After all, a sorta smile? Yeah, that was nearly a welcome.

Babe wandered over, giving him a bit of a smile. "Haven't seen you out here before."

So he had been feeling hospitable, not that the beer had had anything to do with it.. Or the three glasses of scotch he had downed in the last half hour. Regardless, he was feeling slightly social now.

Waiting until the other man sat down next to him, Hugo shrugged. "Good place... Good alolol.. alcohlol..." He squinted, patting the man's back and turning again to his half empty beer glass, watching the small lines of bubbles flowing through it with a light scowl.

"Alcohol will always help," he slid onto the next stool uninvited. Babe was grinning, signalling the bartender for another round of drink. "You can just call it booze."
