You know it's crazy.. the world that is. I mean back when computers weren't around how did we meet people?? I just don't remember , but now we meet people on line. I have met some WONDERFUL people online...Laura,Julia,Minga,Beth and even a few more, then I have met some others who I can't say are wonderful.. I only thought they were! You know, I've thought about this as well...and I too haven't been unlucky with who I've met IRL from online...everyone I've ever met that way has been exactly who they portrayed on computer.

To me...I can't imagine being a different person online because online life to me is like a glove...it fits me like another skin..I've been involved online since I was 17 ...as in the chat/IM/community culture online...

There are actually a few people that I know online and like having them to chat with but would never really want to meet....do you have any of those? LOL

Yes I can honestly say that there are a few I have talked to onlione and don't have much of a desire to meet. Then there are others I would love to meet but don't think I'll ever get the chance. Yesterday I was bored and doing the random Journal thing and came across a few where people seemed SO FAKE. Not so much the people posting in their LJ but more of the people who commented. I just started thinking and then typing in my own.

When I was in the military, I had lots of RL friends. You bond after months of training and going through the same crap, and then for our job field, we get sent everywhere together. I will probably see all my military friends again because of the fact that there are under 6 stations we are likely to be sent to. That was great, but when I left the military, I left all my buddies behind. I'd also lost all of my social skills. So, the internet has been really handy in making friends ( ... )
