my absolute favourite thing about summer are those long days when it is still warm at 7pm, soft sunlight on a light blue sky. i lovelove staying on the beach until the sun is gone behind the horizon, sunsets over the sea.
these are some of the most beatiful polaroids i have ever seen, and they sure make me miss summertime.

the smell of sunscreen, bone-melting-sun-exhaustion, the sun staying out until 9 or 10, driving with the windows down, showers after the beach, floating on my back in the pool, wearing bathing suits instead of clothes, mermaid hair, barbecues, sleeping in.

Strangely, I always miss the sticky-humid-hot-sweatiness of summer midnights, being tangled in damp white sheets with fans humming in the windows and crickets chirping loudly, unable to sleep.

And man, all the things you listed have created a very vivid image of summertime in my mind and I am wanting it so badly right now - especially as I am currently existing under three feet of snow and killer gales.

I miss the general relaxed atmosphere of summer afternoons. I miss outdoor music festivals and swimming in lakes and being barefoot and warm. I miss green grass and flowers. Summer always slips by too fast.
