wow you've actually won nanowrimo for the last 2 years??? What did you get for it? Do they ask you to do any more stuff if you won it? Congratulations, I was actually thinking of doing it myself funnily enough, I know my wife wants to...I started it last year but couldn't put the time in and was falling way behind. I still have the novel on the go though actually buty very rarely pick it up these days...
Ahh, it's not like I'm the only one who won! :) Anyone who finishes their 50,000 words *wins*. However it is a huge task to undertake, and I'm not one to do something if I'm not dedicated and determined to succeed in it! lol
We get a cute little certificate when we finish.. but it's really more of a personal achievement rather than anything else, so no, you don't asked to do any more stuff.
A lot of people don't do the 50,000. You could pick a lower figure if you want something to aim for. I've got so much editing to do that a number figure doesn't do me any good this time around..
ah right I see. You have to be dedicated to it dont you...I dont know if I will bother as there's so much to do here what with the dogs and my driving test at the moment. Plenty of other opportunities though, I must put it on my list of things to do before I die lol
LOL. Well, you don't have to be. It depends on how seriously you take it. It doesn't have to be serious. It's good for fun. The community boards they have are amazing for research.. (there are experts in practically every field-- you type in a scenario or a question and they give suggestions or answers, saves SO much research!)
I tend to be a bit obsessive about some things tho, so don't use what I do as a guide for what to do!
But funny you mentioned things to do lists, I was *just* talking to another friend about hers and < href="http://sovereigna.livejournal.com/208446.html">mine. Writing a novel is definitely on it, and even though I have two in the workings, they definitely have a long way to go before I can mark if off.. but it's great having a list like that to work on! :D
I'm still trying to decide what to do for my birthday. Was thinking of going down there for a shopping trip that weekend.. Been looking into the price of accommodation and flights..
