Well, it figures that I have three papers due this week, and I choose to write a journal entry instead. I sure have my priorities in the right place. However, once we've started, full steam ahead, damn the torpedos, and put the tray tables in their locked and upright position! Here we go

David Sedaris is godly. Me Talk Pretty One Day is excellent, as is Naked (which is what the Macy's elf story is from). Barrel Fever, not so much, as that's an attempt at writing short fiction rather than humorous essays. Don't fuck with what you already got right, in my estimation.

He also had a great essay in GQ a year or two ago where he talked about his brother getting married, and it had me in stitches.
