Reasons not to carry a handkerchief:

• Idiots may interpret it as a gang sign.

Uses:

• Tissue Substitute (reusable, always readily on hand)
  
• Superior alternative to paper towels in many cases (Always on you, not wasteful.  Not unsanitary, you should be washing them regularly.)
  
• Improvised container / furoshiki substitute
• Surrendering (White handkerchiefs only
