On this rainy second day of spring, I've got some happy news to share with you all...

something about the five weeks of vacation + stat holidays that I'll get every year makes the full-time sentence seem distinctly bearable. paid time-off is just oh-so-sweet ;)
how's your jobberino going?

I don't have the 5 weeks you get (I only have three) but the promotion last month and the two raises I get in April and May smooth's me a bit.

I must say it's a bit stressful. Having to keep the city running, makes you just want to crawl into a dark corner and sleep. I even had the union threaten to strike in January (not a fun week).

But everthing else about the job is peachy.

Today and Monday are paid days off for me. Having a bowling party on Sunday to ring in my 25th year.

It may seem a little old, but I work with people whose kids are hitting their 20's, so I still feel like I'm young and fresh.

whoOoOsh whOoosh! did you guys hop any of the gulf islands while you were out here? we've been eyeing some of 'em (salt spring, hornby, denman) + the ferry schedules n' planning a little weekend zooming but just haven't been able to break away from the snowy mountains while the boarding season is still active... 'tis a hard life, really. ;)

that song, "insane in the membrane"
always reminds me of kenneth morgan
falling asleep in bed with a lit cigarette
