One of my favorite songs by her. I had a friend who thought it was about sex, too. I guess that's the average person's first thought. The thing with Olivia is that she has a vivid imagination and often uses a lot of imagery in her lyrics. I'm not an English expert but I personally always thought the parts about lollipops was about bonding with another person and becoming so in tune with them that you start picking up parts of their personality. As though you were getting in their blood stream so to speak. The rest, to me, seems to be about realizing you're unhappy in the relationship and possibly ending it (I'm not living in your lettuce garden) even though you may still want to be with them.

When I read "you're a lollipop that I suck on" I thought the same thing too, but later it says "I'm a lollipop that you suck on", because OLIVIA is a girl she can't have "a lollipop" the way we think, therefore the song is not about sex!

Thanks a lot! Yeah, since I posted that I thought and thought about it, this song does not sound like sex at all. About interpreting as battling with her record label, I never thought of that at all, that's pretty interesting.
