Hey, I forgot to ask y'all something. I am thinking of switching from the evil cable to Dish Network... anyone have good or bad reviews on that company? How about DirectTV?

We've had the Dish Network for several years (friend in the biz-- woot!). We love it, and it's cheaper than cable. If you're serious, let me check and find out what kinda deals we can get you (like if you are referred by a customer, you can get credits and special offers, I think).

I take it your battle with Comcast isn't resolved yet? Don't tell me you still don't have tv? How will C survive?!

We STILL don't have TV. God! We missed the Six Feet Under season premiere... hurray for friends with VCRs. Actually, I called the Dish on Friday night and we have a tech coming over tomorrow, but the install is free, so that's a good enough deal for me.

And I saw that Air America is coming soon to Dish Network's satellite radio stations!!!

Honey, you will love that dish. Way better than cable. Make sure you get that tivo option! Woohoo! Hope you all hang in there all right till Friday. ;)

Oh, I am SO getting the TiVo! And it'll be IN tomorrow, so you know, it'll have been an entire week without television, like a vacation for the brain. You know, Chris didn't even know Ray Charles had died?

We got Direct TV when we moved into our house for two reasons: 1. the previous owner left us his dish and 2. it's cheaper than cable. We only get the "basic" package (no HBO, etc.), but that's like 200 channels. The "basic" package from the cable co. is around 55 channels for nearly the same price. We love it, haven't had any problems.

Dude. I think we aren't gonna be able to get the dish. There are some complications with locating it - those mature trees I love so much - yeah, in the way of signals and such. DAMMIT! But I am still hopeful. I hate Comcast. Hate them. Do NOT want to have to crawl back and expose my belly to them.
