1) Maybe it was a very sacred tree if you were a caterpillar or something, so the crickets were the equivalent of a heavenly choir?

What a pretty place!

Also - a new ot me fact - having had to google Eynsford to find out where it was I see it is the home of Arthu Mee, who wrote the Children's Encyclopedia (a full set of which I have owned since I was 8) which graces my dresser in North Wales!

It's gorgeous. Also, I didn't know that. To me it's the place I was taken when I was little in the hope that I would burn off some energy and sleep because I could run around the fields or the ford or the castle.
