My reaction would be a lot like yours, except all my charities would be for animals and the environment. Except maybe the ACLU. Sort of like I do now. :-)

For my family I'd split it three ways between my siblings. What they would do with it would be up to them.

Thanks for answering this one! Your answer is a lot more interesting and nuanced than the stereotyped options. I don't play the lottery either, but a significant inheritance is not unlikely at some point.

Giving money away well is apparently not as easy as one would guess, from what I've read.

Investing in a financial planner would probably be my first task.

I think that's a pretty good way to do it, though. The way you have divided it up. Pretty sure I could live rather comfortably off $3mil (and the interedt it makes) for the rest of my life.

That said, if I won $10mil I would probably start a nonprofit dedicated to breeding, using, and promoting Jutlands, a rare small draft horse native to Denmark.
