so in one of my classes, we're learning about emotional intelligence, and one of the things we've been talking about is this johari graph which basically divides you up into 4 things - things only you know about yourself, things others know about you that you dont know, things you both know about yourself, and things unknown to both parties. its ( Read more... )

have you picked out the tattoo that you would get if you decided to go for it?

I think that getting a tattoo is like getting married...you should get married because you really love a certain person and want to spend your life with them, not because you just like the idea of being married. Like you should do it for the person, not for the idea of being married. So the analogy would be that you'd get a tattoo because you really love a certain image and it has so much meaning to you that you really want it to be a part of you. Not, just get a tattoo for the sake of having any old tattoo.

and, it's a lifelong commitment, too :) except you can't divorce your tattoo

yeah, actually the idea has been floating in my head for years now and i want some variation of it, but havent exactly been able to piece it together art-wise. i want a swallow (but not a blue and red rockabilly one) with part of the prayer of st francis of assisi in french, which is both the text it was originally written in as well as a language i took for 7 years and, though ive forgotten most of it, still find it quite beautiful ( ... )
