I've been hip to the changes of technology, for the most part. I was surfing in '93, HTMLing in '97, chatting in '00. I've ridden waves of cell, mobile, Walkman, Discman, CD, DVD, DVR, and iPod in turn. I agree with you more or less. Which may seem odd given how much you tube I post. But my YT links are to things that can't be done in text. Like music or clips from movies. Certainly news lends itself more to facts that can be communicated through writing.

Sometimes I think people are just lazy, or possibly too busy. You can listen to something while you do other things but reading requires all your attention. (Whether you actually hear when multitasking is a whole other thing.)
