If that first voice whispers to you so often, you should ignore the disparaging words of the second voice and write. If you derive any kind of personal satisfaction or sense of achievement from writing, keep doing it. Maybe you'll write a bestselling series of novels that earns you enough money to retire young, or maybe you'll never write anything that you deem good enough to be sent to a publisher, but I'm willing to bet that you'll be happier with yourself either way.
Proving to yourself that you can do something in spite of your doubts and fears is extremely powering. I urge you to give a try; you have nothing to lose but time.
