Ponies by the pound!

Or close to it, anyway.

Family Spaceroo went garage sale-ing this morning, and one of the sales we hit had a box of assorted ponies for a quarter each.

Ponies *Rule*. I'm not ashamed to admit it.

You're just jealous you don't get to buy girlie stuff. ;^)

I'm impressed. When I get home, I'll send you the link to Dream Valley, where they have the Pony Identifier. That one in the back is a Cabbage Patch Pony.

I'm impressed you were able to tell that off the cuff from such a small picture. ;^)

I honestly think it's about the cutest of the bunch, despite looking like it's part hippo. I've been making off-color jokes like putting it face to face with the really scrawny 3rd gen pony and saying "See, this is what this pony sees every time she looks in the mirror. And *that* is why she has anorexia..."

Dawn never fails to impress me with how many of these ponies she can still name. Among other things she was able to identify before I started looking them up how the "fuzzy" pony we have is actually a fuzzed-up remake of an earlier model...

And what the heck is with the name "4-Speed" for the one "boy" pony we have? Ugh. I can just see that being part of his bar pickup line. "Hey, baby. My name's 4-speed. Let's see if we can get me into Overdrive..."

Dude - you turned up Four Speed from a garage sale? He's seriously collectible. If you want Ponies to modify, join the Arena (http://www.mlparena.com) and trade him. You can walk away with a whole box of common Ponies to do art on.

Oh, my. I've seen some pictures resembling that on FurAffinity, in the opening segments of the scary parts, but not exactly a display like that.

A quarter each most likely does beat eBay at that.

I suppose, yeah, in certain circles a huge grouping of MLPs like that would be contractually bound to start re-enacting scenes from the Bob Guccione-directed parts of "Caligula" in short order. (Or perhaps something a bit less "classy", starring 4-Speed as "The Cable Guy"?) ;^)

Kara has definitely gotten at least a quarter each's worth of entertainment out of them. She loves moving them, sorting them, putting them into a box, taking them back out again, etc, and is quite proud of them. We had Findra, Skyler, and Portia over for dinner on Saturday and Kara made a point of very generously giving everyone ponies to hold. (She's very giving when she's certain of getting whatever she's handing out back.)

What was somewhat odd was despite Findra having broken out the Amodeo suit to amuse her she still gave Skyler the most ponies. I guess he looked like he needed them.

*snicker*

Well, it looks like at least the 4-Speed we have hasn't had a haircut, as he has an incredibly long tail. It's a surprise to know that stripe in his mane is supposed to be *pink*, however. (I guess MLPs go white with age too.) Kara now knows that he's the "Boy Pony", as she's started referring to him as such when shuffling them around the house. She tends to not be too consistent about her names for the others, except for the yellow one with butterflies all over it. That is, of course, "Butterfly Pony" every time.
