Turns out I was wrong again. There *are* two young doves in the pot. I have no idea what was going on in the picture I took earlier showing only one... my best theory is that one was sitting on the other. Here they are evenly distributed:

What's that black tube?

The black tube is (one of the) the business end(s) of a drip watering system I installed to keep our containerized plants alive when we went on vacation last year. (There was quite an octopuse-sque tangle of hoses and timers at the faucet to go with it.) It's not active at the moment, of course. ;^)

Drip watering is kewl. It's really a simple idea of course, but there's still something of a tech-nerd high that comes along with successfully plumbing a system together. (Not to mention that doing it is a lot like playing with Tinkertoys.)

I have a few more pictures of the critters I'm dying to post, but I suppose I'll wait until tomorrow. I'm sure they bore most people to tears. :^b
