2012 was a pretty big year for me as a writer. I completed my third manuscript, World Maker, in January then in July found an agent willing to represent it. What were your thoughts on the Carson, Condie, Revis, Jemisin (you transposed a few letters, there, as it is N.K. Jemisin *wink*), Ryan, Taylor, and the Roth?

Except for the Jemisin, all of those you ask about are YA spec fic, and I read them primarily to continue my education about books in this genre. I really enjoyed all of them, but I must say that Taylor's book stood out for me because I think, in the end, it felt the most like what I write because it seems to be for an older audience, thematically. If you haven't read the Patrick Ness trilogy, I would suggest you put it on your list, both for concept and theme.
