But Brave - Scenes from an Alternate Universe

These two scenes were written as part of an impromptu collaborative AU project wherein Tristan Farnon of the television programme All Creatures Great and Small was secretly the Fifth Doctor under the influence of a chameleon arch, and all of his friends and family's memories of him simply a side effect of the device's perception filter. Ohh wow! This was great. I've wondered what a human Fifth Doctor would be like and it's a neat idea to have him be Tristan.
(I was a little curious as to why they couldn't go to Terminus...but I think I have an idea.) Are you planning to do more with this concept?

Also, nice title! ;)

Thanks! I don't know if I'll be writing more of this particular AU unless inspiration should suddenly strike, but you can see/read some of the stuff the other participants in the project made here. Alas, I can't take credit for the title, that was StarPanda's doing.

I am still working on writing a fic with a different human Fivey though, And Then There Was One features the Doctor under the influence of the chameleon arch in entirely different circumstances to this. (Dunno if you've read it yet.)

I read your fic. Oooooh!! Your alt!Five is awesome and his relationship with Elizabeth is nice. :)

Awhile back, I started an attempt at doing a 'chameleon arch' story with the Eighth Doctor.

Thank you, glad you like him. I'm fond of him myself, almost makes me feel badly about what I'm going to do to him in that story. Almost. *insert evil!author grin here* (I do feel bad for Elizabeth. She didn't know quite what she was signing up for when she married John.)

The more chameleon arch stories the better, in my opinion! (I say, having written three stories featuring the device myself.) It's a fun plot device for exploring various aspects of the Doctor's character and relationships. And for torturing the poor fellow... >:D
