it is weird because i think reality has beaten me because when you say things like these all i can think is "she is so detached from reality" but that is secretly a good thing as long as you can keep it up without starving/being a mooch.

the thing is that we are now in a moment where art has been pretty much totally de-materialized.
which is a good thing.
my interest is to revive the art object, but have it be a useful object as well. which means functional, either in a utilitarian sense or in a ritualistic sense. so just because we say fuck commodity and fuck the gallery doesn't mean fuck the material world, because making things is SO important.
AND so activist...in the DIY way...so these people making so called marxist critiques of the art world and the art object are forgetting completely that thing about being alienated from the means of production, oftentimes meaning alienation from one's own best tools: our hands.

that's pretty much what you're saying here. and i agree with it and it's good but what a convoluted way to phrase it.
and it's an absurd assumption about conformity to imply that "we" say "fuck commodity"
though i do think it is good that art has dematerialized because it shouldn't be for sale unless you need material costs covered
and why would i care about marxists? they are silly that's all
