In 1987 I took a summer school class in science (I was never motivated to do my homework, even for subjects I liked and understood), and the teacher handed out a bunch of 1940's era textbooks for the class. "The principles are still the same" he explained.

Yes, the physics hasn't changed, but reading things like "If man ever visits the moon" was weird.

Okay I'm stumped what the picture is supposed to be. An "A"? An 8?

It looks like a face to me. The green is either hair or a helmet. The red is the being, with the black squares as two eyes, a nose and a mouth. The blue is a shirt collar.

That's my story, anyway.

So what's he want? Our water? Us as food? Our women for his own demented purposes? Our MEN for HER own demented purposes? Oh blue-turtleneck wearing aliens, you will rue the day you picked a fight with Earth!

Yeah, the Cassini cameras are 12 bit attached to a 16 bit processor. A whole 225% increase in shade depth in 25 years, utterly amazing. And given that Cassini's cameras were 1024 x 1024, that is a 145% increase in resolution. And believe me, the technology in space has not improved significantly since Cassini.
