Don't forget, there could be Reds. They're everywhere, you know… And such a weapon would work better in a vacuum than ever it would in an atmosphere.
(Though as I'm sure you know, ordinary guns work fine on the Moon, so long as you use a graphite lubricant, keep them within a reasonable temperature range and don't let moondust get into the works. A Colonial musket (the British 'Brown Bess,' for example) would encounter few problems… and never a worry about getting your powder wet!
Yet oddly, you could make a case for the cape, either as solar shielding in her case or (with coolant-recirculating tubing sewn in) as a radiator!
