Thanks! Are you afraid of the pain or just the idea of marking your body permanently? I'd wanted one for years but feared both things. This year has brought unexpected changes to my life and I made a conscious decision to get over some of my fears so it felt like the perfect time to finally get it. I definitely recommend you think it over clearly before you take the plunge and be sure it's something meaningful to you. That was important to me, I didn't want a tattoo just for the hell of it, I wanted it to have some meaning if it was going to become a permanent part of me. Once I figured out what I wanted I lost most of the fear. As for the pain, it wasn't nearly as bad as I imagined although I will say that it burned like hell the next day. It was a strangely satisfying experience and I can understand why it becomes addictive to some people.
