My review of the movie...
Ok so I have decided that it is time to write up my report of the movie POA.
Opening scene.. can anyone say POINTLESS? What the heck was that? Ya Im gonna let everyone know that I think Daniel Ratcliffe no matter how young that boy is.. is dang SeXy in the HP movies.. and he looked hott in the scene.. but it was stupid. I am assuming it was Alfonso's way of showing Harry doing his homework in secret but it was more just for laughs. I wouldnt have minded it except it wasted valuable time apparently.
Then you see Aunt Marge show up. I didn't like her that much. Not nearly fat enough. Harry shows Uncle vernon a letter of some sort. Well its the hogsmead letter but you dont know that.. which is kind of stupid.. because it was very important in the books. Then you move into the blow up scene. It would have been really good if it wouldnt have been so slow. It was like freakin 10 minutes long. They also had her go outside and float in the air, that never happened and it angered me.
Another minor detail that angered me was that he opened the door himself, and his trunk wasnt locked in the cupboard. Whats up with that? Hes supposed to do magic without his wand there, but of course they didnt do that. Then Harry gets really really really really hott. He gets all rebelious on his uncle and pulls his wand out and is all like "try me" I was like how about "do me" (MAJOR JOKE GUYS) and then he leaves.
The park scene was dark and neat. I thought it was good and provided a scary feeling. Then you see the doggie/grim.. oh ya GREAT cuz hes supposed to be BEARLIKE and he looked like paris hiltons dog. (AM -Alfonso Mistake #1) He was tiny. Then the knight bus saved the day. It was just as I imagined it and Stan Shumpike was EXACTLY how I pictured him to be. He was perfect. Then it kinda got bad again because the thing was INCREDIBLY long. They did introduce Sirius but not like they did in the book but oh well. It was to long.
The leaky cauldron was TERRIBLE. First Fudge doenst meet harry, the owner does.(AM #2) Then you go up to what looks like fudges room like he lives there.. its very confusing. Then you hear Fudge talking but its drowned out by people laughing because the funny looking owner is doign funny things. So you miss everything to do with Sirius Black. Fudge doesnt even seem that worried about black.. it just seems kind of contrived instead of a real worried "OMG IM GLAD YOU ARE OK" kind of thing.
Then you see the monster book of monsters.. i <3ed it. It was hilarious and showed you the book perfectly. Its exactly how i pictured it.. BRAVO! ALFONSO YOU DID SOMETHING GOOD!
Then Harry sees the Weasleys and Hermione. Ron.. HOLY CANOODLE.. that boy is SeXxxxxxxxY in that movie. You also see the animosity between Crookshanks and Scabbers. Great fun right.. EXCEPT THEY DONT TELL YOU WHY THERE IS ANIMOCITY.. JUST THAT THERE IS. I loved that so def. (AM #3). Then you see Fred and George.. WHAT HAPPENED? Why did everyone decide this was the movie to get cute in? Well it made me extremely happy because they were finally cute enough to say their funny lines. Except they didnt say any of their funny lines. They had like 4 lines total. (AM #4). Then Mr. Weasley tries to warn Harry of the danger of Sirius, but does a terrible job and it looks like a joke really. I liked the other way of finding out a lot better so im gonna have to go with (AM #5). Wow thats a lot of Alfonso mistakes for one group of scenes. Hes lucky he showed us Harry, Ron, Fred, and George in that group as well or I might have walked out.
Finally the movie picks up. The train is always great. Hermione calls Ron Ronald which is way cute and I really like how Fonso did that. Lupin is introduced but hes sleeping off the bat so you dont really see him. Then the dementors come. They are PERFECT. Exactly how i pictured them.. quite like the Nazgul and being a LOTR obsessed person that made me happy. so GO FONSO.. you did another thing right. Then Lupin gets up and saves the day and my jaw hit the floor. I thought it was terrible casting. I just wanted to cry cuz i <3 lupin and it was just ugh. Then the second he gives harry the chocolate I started to like him. He was awesome. The perfect Lupin. He obviously read the books because he captured Lupins fatherly nature. GO LUPIN.
(AM #6) HOLY MOLY! HOGWARTS ISNT THE SAME CASTLE! That angered me so bad. What happened? Just cuz they changed directors doesnt mean they had to change hogwarts its self. The castles different, hagrids hut moved, the scenery changed, and the womping willow moved. WHAT IS UP WITH THAT? Then you see the new dumbledore. That is something that the new director couldnt help.. Richard harris was awesome and I will miss him as Dumbledore. The new guy.. umm.. TeRriBle.. He wasnt dumbledore. He wasnt wise and bad ace. He was spunky and weird. Whatever though. I cant change that. (AM #7)
Then the first divination lesson. Trewlaney.. good.. well cast.. a little to excentric but I cant be to picky. The scene was great. Ron is HILARIOUS! That boy.. i swear. They kind of gave away a little to much about Hermione and her little time changer, but for the movies sake it was necessary. So I have no complaints about that scene except it wasnt through a trap door.. that angered me a little bit.
I AM NOT DONE WITH THIS REVIEW.. I AM TIRED AND I NEED TO SLEEP!
