Uh-oh....scary new job alert

May 06, 2006 15:33

Well I've gone and done it. I've got myself a new job. But I am, as they say, "bricking it". I am going to be a project co-ordinator for the re-development of an area called St Georges Quarter in Huddersfield. I have no specific experience of the construction industry, but somehow I've got to make sure that a Grade 2 listed mill gets turned ( Read more... )

Congratulations! Your grumpy baby did give you luck ^_^

I'd love to have an apartment in a building like that; I'm a big fan of these remodellings, if done sympathetically.
I have every confidence that you'll be able to do a grand job, pickle XD Always push yourself!

I so know it's the right thing to do, ie to go for this job. It makes me giddy just thinking about it. At the minute the job is a bit "freeform", I really don't know exactly what I will be doing until I start doing the job.

I do love places like this, and the idea of being responsible for making somewhere better for everyone is just great. I do still have the fear about it though.

Hurrah! Sounds like an amazing job - and the kind of thing that could take you far. Well done! I say go for it :)

I'm really hoping I make a success of it, hopefully it will lead to bigger and better things. God only knows how long this will take to complete. It's really hard to visualise it when it's complete. At the minute, the only residents of the building are pigeons - and they have pooed just about everywhere it's possible to poo.... :(

You already know what I think!! You'll be fine. They wouldn't offer you the job if they didn't think you could do it. Well done wee spacks and perhaps you could get a cheapy apartment out of them too - hee hee!

That's exactly what Mibbie thought too. Cheap apartment joy. The company that's responsible for the "look" is called Urban Splash. Google it and you'll see just how good it could be.

I still can't get over the " Hi, I'm Emma and I work in property development" factor. I know it's really sad, but I really want to be proud of my job when I tell people what I do. Anything is better than saying I work for PC World.......that was just soul destroying.

And I just found out that our friends who had little baby Anna have got another baby on the way!! I'm so chuffed for them, and a little bit pissed at the moment too.....
