geez, these reviews make ian mcewan sound like the second coming of christ. am i the only one that thought this book wasn't that great? the first part of the first part was ok, but after that i just did not give a shit about the characters or the super detailed and yet actionless narrative, and i just plowed through it to be done with it. i was not
