If you get a personal trainer make sure you see eye to eye with them on important things like diet and whatnot. A girl I work with got one and it's not going well because she's not being honest. The trainer is a "no white bread" type, pushing lean proteins and low carbs and the girl is a pasta and potatoes type. So instead of saying - "We don't see eye to eye on diet, can you come up with a plan that fits more in my lifestyle" she just lies in her food journal and writes what she SHOULD have eaten rather than what she ACTUALLY ate. The pounds are sticking and she just can't seem to understand why.
Not trying to discourage you in any way, just giving you the buyer beware speech :)
Thanks for the head's up. I am the type that will go to the trainer and say "Here's what I want for me and my body - make me over!" SEriously - I can NOT justify paying that much for something and NOT doing it right or being honest. That makes no sense to me. You're only cheating yourself and wasting time. I need someone who will help me change my lifestyle when it comes to food and exercise. . . I have great potential I just need the kick in the ass to get there. . . . and one good way for that is through my wallet. PLUS, it will be on MY TIME - I've missed my time this summer like you wouldn't believe. . . . .
Thank you - it's a good thing to remember. I'll have to be honest about my habits from the get-go for sure! That I'd rather snack than eat a meal. . . that I hate to cook but have a family. . . .ugh. I'll be a great career challenge for any good and qualified trainer out there. ha ha
