I.

Murder found him quickly under the bricked-over sky of the Muzad, the light greasy and flickering from the rusted torch holders set high on the stone pilings, just a few strides away from a stairway deeper down into the dark. The stacked pilings threw deep shadow to his left, a blanket over the assassin, but even as Nathan straightened carefully against the dagger’s edge inserted between the chink of armor at his ribs, the stiletto point pricking only just far enough through the mail shirt he wore beneath to write its author’s point, there was a soft bark of laughter ( ... )

I have no idea what all the references are but I love this fic, really, it's fantastic even without the knowledge of FR, you explained the background neatly and interestingly.
The interaction between Nate and Wade is great too, I like how Wade is just slightly mad and Nate is worried, not like in canon he's used to Wade being mad or something.

FR is a world created as a starting point to build adventure games, so it's really full of cliches, which makes it quite comfortable to do the above. :D I was very tempted to start the story traditionally via everyone meeting in a tavern. ^^;;

I am only barely familiar with the source material, but I'm loving this story to bits, and I'm so thrilled to see it getting continued. :3 Wade in an RPG-inspired setting is a real joy to read.

I seriously love Wade's 4th wall breaking in this fic. I've been getting more familiar with DnD so I am starting to understand some of the game ref.

At the risk of sounding stalkerish - pff, like we hadn't already noticed half the fic on this meme was coming from you. :P

Still loving this story to bits. :D Very curious about the backstory behind how this Nate and Wade got to know each other, but mostly just looking foward to more.

Wade was somewhere Above on a task, and no one else in the Agency was free to ‘babysit’, as Hayden put it. Nathan wasn’t fooled: he wasn’t being tailed for his own good. Above all, the assassins worked for Nur, and he wouldn’t be surprised if someone quiet had been set to follow him on this trip ( ... )
