Daniel was badly out of shape and feeling it with every uncoordinated motion of this fight. Awkward as he was, the Molotov cocktail of adrenaline and muscle memory running through his veins made him more than equal to the two utterly worthless street punks he’d run into. They were the sort of spotty, swaggering, criminal wannabes that he would have admonished to go back to school in his Nite Owl days. Tonight he had no illusions about saving them from the city, or the city from them. At any rate, it was more satisfying than punching a brick wall, and slightly easier on his knuckles

“I saw- I saw what you did, Comedian. I saw it with my own eyes,” Dan dimly felt that maybe he didn’t need to say that, but his clear, carefully outlined list of strategies and objectives had been wiped away, and the niggling, insistent voice was the only part of his brain that had anything to offer right now. Even if they were inanities, Dan simply had nothing else to say.

Awww poor Danny. It's rare for fanfic to make me dislike Blake as much as I did during parts of the GN/movie but this fic kind of brings it back, in a good way.

*headdesk* Wellll, we all know how this eventually ends, but AT LEAST they have come to some sort of mostly-happy conclusion for now.

That was great and in-character and sad and wow, finally I read a fic that made me hate the Comedian again! Been a long time since that happened. xD; <3

Eh well, its that whole Butterfly Effect rigmarole. Circumstances aren't quite what they were in the GN, so who knows, the ending could be completely different.... maybe our boys get their happy ending.

I love this story. The Comedian's voice is perfect, and I love love love the idea that his death was actually driven by Dan. Plus, I'm really happy about the way you went with the Dan/Ror relationship. Post-rape sex squicks me and you made it sweet and comforting without that. :)

yeah, it squicks me out too, and its unrealistic. People (especially someone like Ror) don't just get over that kind of trauma in a day.

Also thanks, I've never written Comedian before, he's tricky. Especially since I generally like him against my better judgment.
