oh man. Walter has been so insecure around Adrian for so long that I've been wanting them to get it on. I doubt Laurie and Dan would mind (though with Eddie it's even odds if he'd be furious or amused.) WHAT WILL HAPPEN

I don't think they'll have tripsex, I'm sorry to say. Shrooms just aren't very sexual. They tend to make you feel like a child, only now you can appreciate it, because you remember what it was like when puberty made everything so damned complicated. But yeah, they have to. At some point in their lives. I mean, damn.

LUCY IN THE SKYYYY WITH DIIIIAMONDSSS...

Anon, if you give Walter a bad trip, I will cry. Poor bb is so hurt and insecure, he needs some mind-altering revelations (and a healthy dose of cross-dressing?) so that we can see a rockin' performance of their band! Please, anon?

I'm sure he'll have a couple bad moments, but don't worry, I wasn't planning on bumming him out. And of course cross-dressing is bound to occur, since Adrian has pretty dresses and it seems to be kind of Theme in this fucking fic anyway. Furthermore, when you're shrooming, playing dress-up can be the most fun thing in the universe, because everything's really beautiful, you look good in anything, and every item has some kind of talismanic significance. Particularly hats.

dragged out some books of interesting art

Okay, anon, I am giggling uncontrollably just imagining what kind of weird-ass stuff Adrian must keep in his nascent Boys Folder bookcase for situations like this. A really glossy coffee-table edition of the Books of the Dead of Hunefer and Ani, perhaps? Or some of those crazy-ass Balinese paintings with the insane levels of detail? The mind boggles, in delightful ways.

(However, captcha says Kissinger's beanbags, which leads the mind down paths it dare not go. Prompted by Monty Python. *shudder*)

Knowing Adrian, he picked one book to be disturbing, one to be soothing, and one because the art in it looks like Walter's kind of thing. What is any of these damn books is up for grabs, really. Suggestions taken under advisement. XD

For a disturbing book, I'd suggest with Francisco Goya's The Disasters of War. Its 82 pages of people enjoying the best medieval torture and murder had to offer.

Walter had eaten worse, at many points in his life. These only tasted kind of like nuts and dirt, and peanut butter was a good mask after all. He sat on the counter, stolidly grinding down his third and final cap, jaws beginning to ache. Adrian had squeezed a glass of fresh orange juice for them both, outlining his theory that vitamin c helped you metabolize the mushrooms and really get going, and how even if that wasn't actually true, it was great for getting the taste out of your mouth. Walter took a swig and washed the last bits down with a sense of fatalistic finality. That was it. According to Adrian, nausea was actually fairly unusual, and Walter's stomach was cast iron. He looked over at Adrian, was leaned against the same counter beside him, determinedly gnawing on his fourth cap, looking around the kitchen. Apparently messes always bothered him when he was tripping ( ... )

"...the universe was a tricky bastard, and sometimes you had to sneak up on it." - this line totally reminds me of Good Omens; it's got the same writing style. And purple Cheshire Bubu! (Adrian should have gotten her some catnip)

Sorry for my sleepy incoherentness.

The whole place becomes some kind of ludicrous nursery, everything beautiful and glowing. Bubastis lurking among the houseplants becomes something Walter cannot help but think of as a designer lynx, huge and feral and beautiful. He follows her for a while, even though he's pretty sure he's not moving. There's a primordial forest where he meets someone who might be Athena or the Virgin Mary, he can't actually tell because she keeps changing. She doesn't say anything to him because she doesn't have to, and when he snaps back a little, he's crying ( ... )

(Christ, don't even talk to me about it.)

Honestly, I could write a better trip than this, it's just a matter of deciding how much time I want to spend on this crap. XD Trips are so dense with meaning that it's kind hard to get them down. Like dreams.

Anon, you've made a shitty day just that little bit better. :) This was funny and accurate and just the right amount of fuzzy, and damn does it make me nostalgic for my own misspent youth.
