Rules of the meme:

1. Anonymously post a pairing and prompt you would like to see written. Since this is a kink meme, there is supposted to be a kink involved, but normal well-written prompts should work just as well.

2. Anonymous will respond to your post and write it for you! Art and such is also acceptable/awesome. Multiple people may respond to ( Read more... )

Boxing Days (Tiananmen Square AU), part 1/? anonymous September 14 2009, 06:00:50 UTC

For the anon(s) that requested revolutionary!Rorschach back in the second KM. I'm still working on it, but thought I'd release the first bit for now. Had to Sinify their names... it won't be too hard to figure out who is who.

Warnings: historical inaccuracy, really strange subject matter (but this is the KM, so maybe it's not one of the weirder ones??), probably lots of political incorrectness. Be willing to suspend your disbelief more than usual... I still can't believe I wrote this.

Wau thank youuu! <3 <3 I'm glad the politics isn't too overwhelming, though I must confess that my own knowledge on it is pretty shaky, too. (Chinese politics is filled with intrigue and crazy old coots trying to unseat each other 24/7) Of course with each class session I take I realize all the mistakes/things I could do, so it's becoming harder and harder to keep the story focused on Dan and Ror / Deng and Red ( ... )

The heat is becoming unbearable, and the humidity makes it worse. That morning, a few of Deng's classmates knock on his dorm door and ask him if he wants to go swimming before their usual rendezvous. Deng jumps up and almost hits his head on the top bunk in his eagerness. He looks to Red, who is busy making another sign at the other end of the room ( ... )

His classmates have already finished doing laps by the time Deng and Red make their way to the gymnasium pool. At this hour the place isn't too crowded-- Deng recognizes a physics professor doing calisthenics at the shallow end, but not the others. He jumps in and gestures at Red, who dips his feet in hesitantly, all pale skin and gooseflesh. His expression is still a picture of stalwart displeasure, though, and Deng thinks that Red is the only man who can look utterly commanding while most likely scared to pieces. He waits, patiently, until Red is in, submerged to the neck and teeth chattering from the coolness of the water and the frantic echo of his own heartbeat. Deng's beats quickly, too. He's almost surprised that the water doesn't ripple around them with the force of their tremors ( ... )

THERE SHOULD BE MORE COMMENTS HERE BECAUSE THIS IS AWESOME OKAY :)

This continues to be just beautiful. Deng teaching Red to swim is really touching. Let me say also for the thousandth time I love the imagery you use.

Bweeeeeee friendship~ <3 And ohh, Dan, you're so adorably infatuated without even realizing. Teaching Ror how to swim is so sweet. And I know how frustrating it is to teach a reluctant person how to swim - I spent all summer teaching my brother. Dx

Now I cannot get the image of Ror in a dirty, too-small speedo kind of thing out of my head. I blame the kinkmeme. *headdesk*

LOVE the imagery in the last paragraph. I can almost feel the hot air burning when I breathe. And a shoulder to lean on means so much, especially with these two. Amazing job. <33

It's hot, even at night. Crickets chirp outside, merry in their chorus. Deng's peeled off his shirt, wet with perspiration, and is mopping off the sweat of his brow with it. Red's eyes flicker about as if they don't know where to settle, and instead choose a point on the opposite wall. His hands are twisting, thrashing in their own grip, like fish out of water ( ... )

He walks up and out of the dorm, probably to use the bathroom, perhaps to time his exit with the weight of his words. Deng sits there in silence, tries not to feel stunned. But it's like a blow to the stomach, the air is knocked out of him. He moves to his bed and lays down. The mattress squeaks, complains under his weight, and Deng thumps his foot impatiently against the side. His teeth grind in his head and there is a hotness behind his eyes that he hides by casting his forearm over the bridge of his nose. There are things he wants to say, Red truths. One of them is that Red is a stupid, incorrigible basta ( ... )

Inaction was not to persist forever: the students may not realize it, but the last of the moderates in power have been ousted by the ongoing power struggles within the Party. This is as evident as day when the General Secretary Zhao Ziyang steps up onto the podium in the middle of the square, tears floating at the rims of his eyes as he proclaims in a trembling voice, don't do this to yourselves. Don't do this to your lives. Please move on, and change will come. Eventually. You must be patient ( ... )

They lean into each other until their shoulders touch, brought together by the last vestiges of heat their bodies have to offer. Deng's track jacket scratches lightly against Red's canvas jacket. Time goes by, and then their arms press against one another. Red's neck cranes sideways, as if he wants to ( ... )

Ok. This? This is going onto my list of things to reread over and over again when I'm sad, because it makes me so damn happy.

Thank you so much! OMG, what a compliment. I feel kind of bad, though, since not everything is going to stay happy for these two... (the angst is coming on, big time) D: Please don't hate me.
