So whats going on? Are they banning them or what? I've seen this video before. Where is this happening and what exactly are the local governments trying to do?

I think pitbulls are adorable (that one pic in the video cuddled with the 3 year old looking kid is precious), but I've never owned one myself. All I've ever heard is that they're great to their families but if they escape from your yard or something they're prone to attacking kids and other animals.

I know for a fact that they're banned in Dade County Florida (Miami) and I've heard that they're banned in San Fran too. IMHO the laws being passed are there because asshole politicians want to look like they're doing something. As usual, they're going off half-cocked.

From what I understand, they're not supposed to be very good with other dogs but my neighbor brought their boxer over and the two of them were getting along great. No fighting at all - just chasing each other around my yard.

I'm fairly certain that the attacking kids thing is pure myth. The dog on the Little Rascals, Petey (sp?), was a Pit.

Someone's got to put the bullshit about these great dogs to rest. A couple months ago I met a guy that was breeding them , a neighbor, and let him know how I felt. Haven't talked to him since. The prick.
