A friend of mine is going through some very hard times right now. He got married three months before he was shipped to Iraq for a year. I don't think there is much you can do, other than let him know that you are there for him. And have faith that things will improve.

anyways i know someone who was dating a girl for like 3 years and she cheated on him and then dumped him like a week ago...so i think all you can do is keep trying to get him to get his mind off of it. i know its prolly impossible for him to forget all together but at least if u keep inviting him to do things he knows the option is there, even if he does duck out, and eventually when he's ready to he'll come around. my friend that just got cheated on said that every time he talks to someone about the situation it makes him less and less inclined to want to get back together with her. so maybe venting does help. if u try to talk to him about it the worst he can do is tell you that he doesnt want to, if thats the case then obv dont push it, but sometimes people just like to vent.
