Well, the ice storm that was supposed to shut down the whole world did not materialize here last night. We got the freezing rain, but the temperature got up to a toasty 37 by dawn, so schools are open for business

That's good news! The ice storm we got hit with last Thursday night effectively shut down this whole section of the state for a week+. We just got our power back last night on day 7, and there are still people without power.

To tell you the truth, that's kind of how I feel about writing papers. I tell students at work all the time to start writing early, but I never can. Maybe when I get to the 10+ page research kind, it will change out of necessity, but I'm not making any guarantees.
