Oakcrest Mixer

Apr 22, 2005 23:38

School was boring as usual...who cares about that? A few days ago Sean (a fellow dateforpromless classmate) informed me that Oakcrest was having a mixer on Friday. This, probably being the of of the last if not the last mixer before prom, i decided to go. I had never been to an Oakcrest dance before, so i wasn't sure what to expect. However, ( Read more... )

well... while you were dancing the night away I was somewhere in the middle of 7 hours of training, starting with 4 hours of mental abuse. We were blindfolded and treated like POW's for that time period, and it was pretty intense. No physical beatings other than a few slaps to the face and a gut punch. and of course you don't see any of it coming because you're blindfolded. THEN we had an 8 hour march that just ended (it's midnight)

SO
about the girl.
that's odd... ask her to prom anyway. or even better, ask her parents if you can ask her to prom. i'll talk to you monday. Tomorrow i have to get up at 4:45 for reveilee formation and breakfast, followed by physical training of one sort or another *mostly running* until 5pm. yay.

thank God my mother has never chaperone a dance. All i can say is, I have been that girl and as frustrating as it is for you, it is equally, if not more, frustrating for her because it is her fault (well, her "sides fault, aka her parents, if you follow) that things don't get to play out teh way they should. It also sucks more because it is always the case.
It sucks even harder when a boy tells you that they really like you, but that they "don't want to deal with" your parents or "cant handle them" etc.
I don't know what to say to you. I will tell you though that if you start something, and the parents begin to meet you and like you, they may let up a little bit, but you wont have the freedom that some kisd your age have. But that comes with pluses and minuses.
I'll stop rambling, but IM me sometime, because believe me, i know how much this sucks for both parties.

"6.9 What is the role of women in the Opus Dei ideology?

... Woman are so sinful and are responsible that we have been dislodged from the garden of eden. And the only possibility for them to lessen their guilt is by subordinating themselves... ``You should be like a carpet where people can step onto'' he explained... (Heard by a lot of people at an information evening of the Opus Dei in Dornbirn Austria. easter 1994. from the book "gottes rechte kirche" by t.m. hofer) "
