The harder you push -

- The farther I run

Now for all you "Jesus Freaks" out there, I'm sorry if I offend you in any way. However, my mother might want to trade me in for you. Because obviously I just don't measure up to her expectations of being the Bible hugging, crucifix wearing, "honk if you love Jesus" type of girl. I've tried on that outfit ( Read more... )

Yes, I understand where you are coming from. Remember we have the same formula of a parental mixture. I do not go to church as much as I used to.. but when I go home i definately go to church. Not only does this act please my parents, but also fulfils the religious void ive been missing. but lately, i know god has been punishing me. jimmy got into a car accident and told me that he loves me. school is getting harder and my relationships with people have become confusing...my roommate and i are having problems and basically i want to jump off a cliff..im broke. i have no been doing what i was brought up to do. when things get the worst i turn to god. does this make me bad? no, it makes me ignorant. i should know by now that god is ALWAYS there. God loves you inside and out, and forgives me.you.whoever..for everything. yes, the more someone pushes, the farther away you go...but you cant run from god stac..because theres nowhere to run where he wont find you. you havent been deemed unworthy until you strike God completely out of your ( ... )

My parents gave up on the whole "force Liz to love church" idea a long long time ago. Parents need to understand as do all adults that faith is not acquired through force, and people express their faith in different ways. Often, going to church does nothing for me. I have to be in a certain mood to attend mass. However, that doesn't mean I hate God and want to disrespect him, it just means that I have my OWN personal way of giving praise to God. Unlike some people's version of God, my God never judges HOW you praise, He's just happy that you DO.

I couldn't agree with that whole thing more. No one should be made to go to church EVER. And I am so greatful that my mom isn't religious.. in fact, she wouldn't care if I turned agnostic or atheist, which I've gone to a few times, but come around to realize that there's gotta be something out there.. I'm just not sure what. But anyway, I totally get what you mean when you said:
"I feel like I shouldn't even step inside a church. I almost half-expect God to strike me down right then and there if I do.I feel the SAME way. I even feel like I shouldn't receive Communion when we have Mass at school cos I feel like I'm just so crappy of a person compared to what "God" or "Jesus" (in quotations cos I am referring to the one the Catholic Church talks about) is said to be like and said to expect from us. IDK i think catholicism is a nazi religion that goes WAY too far and has been so altered by man that it is no longer religious but cult-like. But that's just me.. and my whorishly pessimistic views of religion and the world lol. But ( ... )

This really saddens me to see this all come out on the internet of all places first off...you all need to learn one thing most primarily is God IS love...ultimately HE IS LOVE. He doesn't laugh when we fall down or point and stare if we don't look right. GOD DOES NOT MAKE JUNK so therefore when you say He will strike you down for going to Church thats bull! He won't! He's waiting on the Cross clearly with open arms for you to fall into so he could love you enough that you can handle anything this world throws at you! Secondly, if you have committed a mortal sin, you shouldn't be receiving Communion anyhow so don't ever feel forced to receive just because you are FORCED to go to Mass...if you think you parents want you to go real bad to Mass, just think how much greater the desire is of our HEAVENLY Father for us to be there with him as well. They don't force it just to be on a power trip, they just want you to be in the presence of your Heavenly Father and your Blessed Mother. Is that so wrong? They are trying to look out for your ( ... )
