Not Fade Away

Ok, updating. I was never going to write in this but I guess I'll try again.

I loved Angel. Let's see if I can cut: I liked the ending. When they were all standing there looking at the demons I said to my kids and hubby that I hoped it ended like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Going out in a blaze of glory. Except not that they all died. They implied Gunn would die: Illyria:"You're fading." And something about he had about 10 minutes. I'm imagining Spike and Angel at least, made it.

Oh, and about the shanshu, as I said in secondverse's journal, I don't think Angel signed his name. In the beginning of this season, we saw him signing his name, in blood, and it was very neat and clear. "Angel" He even says later in last night's episode that he has very neat handwriting. The signature on the document was a messy scrawl. I think he signed "AngeR" Whatever he wrote, I don't think it will count as a signature.

I liked the quick cuts of everyone with their missions. I have to say, I was really happy when the senator got it. And that the baby got saved. Spike was so gentle with him--at least with the real baby. Not with the bundle of blankets he was holding when he fought the bad guys. And Illyria giving Wes "the lie" at the end. Including the part where he would be with Fred when he died. My son said "Wait, I thought there was nothing left of Fred, not even a soul." And I had to tell him "He told her he wanted the lie. That's included in the lie." I'm really sorry he died. I have to admit, I'm not as down with the Wes love as some people, but I did like him. And I like the way he grew throughout the seasons. But someone had to die, and who else could it be?

All-in-all, a great ending to a great show.
