The good news: it turns out that this ficathon assignment spawned TWO ideas, and (eventually) I hope to get them both written.

The bad news: neither of them will completed today. :-/ I agreed to go onstage at my friend's spoken word show tonight and read selected ramblings, which I haven't done in forever so I've been getting all that writing together, too.

The "but it's not too bad!" news: I should have at least a first scene up for everyone to read by tonight, and then after that I could put stuff up as a WIP? Would at least a teaser for what's to come (and I promise not to flake and never finish it, that's a pet peeve of mine) be good enough? :P

Hey ma'am.

I've come to a decision on my entry: since doyle_sb4 (my requester) has pointed out that the first-chapter entry I posted actually does well as a standalone, (and since efforts to make it into a longer story are turning the damn thing into War and Peace), I wonder if you'd let me just call that entry my official ficathon story and mark me finished? I feel like I basically have doyle_sb4's okay on it, and dammit, we need some closure here. :P If I write stuff later, it'll just be a happy little add-on. I've decided the title of the story is "Kitten Zen", and the link for that story is here.
