Baby, I can drive you anywhere

So, I bought a car? When I graduated last year, my parents made it clear that they were willing to assist me financially in buying a car, as they'd done for my sisters when they graduated college. It was an incredibly generous offer, but I asked if I could wait for a while, until I had a job more permanent (and higher paying) than the coffee shop. ( Read more... )

SO AWESOME YAYYYY!!!

Yeah, my parents helped me buy a car when I graduated (that was their gift) and we bought a certified pre-owned vehicle from the dealer (very minimal mileage, car wasn't that old, etc etc). Having it makes your life simpler -- and you know what? YOU ARE WORTH IT! When it comes to things or situations like these, I just think "what is my time worth", and girl, your time is not worth the time it took you to check and double check schedules, waiting for buses, being on buses, etc etc. It's one thing if you just had to go to one place all day, every day, but ...

OMG YAYYYYYYYYY! Just _WAIT_ until you pay it off -- that feeling, of having the car totally be YOURS -- is absolutely fantastic. HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY SQUEE FOR YOU!!!!

Seriously, the time I've saved is WELL worth it - I was able to get to work in Bethesda, and then out to Wheaton for another work event, and not worry about catching the bus or checking schedules. It was pretty awesome!
