My Mom had a lot of luck with the obedience classes offered at Petco (pretty sure it's petco and not petsmart...I'll have to doublecheck) when she had George. She is waiting until Spring before taking her CoCo to classes there, because she had a really good obedience experience as well as socializing with other dogs experience.

We are actually looking into the classes at PetSmart (cause it's about 5 minutes from us) but I'll take a look at PetCo's classes too. My mother-in-law also knows someone who does one on one training, and we might check her out as well.

Basically we need her to stop pulling on her leash and to be better behaved around other dogs. She loves other dogs, but can be overwhelming.

I'll ask my Mom tonight which place she went to - I honestly can't remember. ;)

Mom's Coco is the same way with other dogs -- she loves to play and has so much energy that it can be overwhelming cuz it's like "oh HAI THERE! BE MY FRIEND! I want to play!" Mom's making progress with her on her own, but I think that the classes would be really helpful in getting her used to being around other dogs occasionally. She is totally fine with her buddies down the street, where she goes to play on the weekends.
