And this is accompanied by the insomnia of doom. Which is very very irritating.

Because of a weird quirk of Sparkiness, sleep deprivation is also accompanied by the hyperactive libido. This is not a good combination

The UK has had our first "Black Friday" thanks to shops copying online retailers who are, in turn, copying the Americans. We are all ( Read more... )

No, for God's sake, other countries do NOT need to copy us Americans on "Black Friday." ::shudders:: I refuse to go anywhere near a store the day after Thanksgiving unless it's an emergency - and by that, I mean that either thieves have broken in and stolen every bit of food in the house, or we're out of toilet paper. And as we're surrounded by good, inexpensive restaurants, only the latter constitutes a true emergency.

I envy you your industrious holiday cooking. I miss it. I live with people who keep the kitchen in such a state that I want to blast it with a flamethrower every time I see it. I hope my employment becomes permanent so that I can plan for the day when I can have a place of my own, with a kitchen that doesn't look infested, full of ingredients just pleading with me to turn them into delicious, devourable food.

Although I admit I now want make a pear & cranberry cake with Irish cream layers . . . or maybe dried cherry and citrus . . .

Ummm.... if you're lookin' for someone to taste test the pear & cranberry cake with Irish cream layers, I'm volunteering! Just tell where to be and when to be there and I will make it happen. I am also very much okay with dried cherry or citrus as substitutes for pear and/or cranberry! I will taste them all so that no one suffers from food poisoning! I've never had your cooking or baked treats, nor have we been properly introduced (Hello) and I have no reason to believe that you would create yummy delicious sounding cakes that would be poisonous. However, there is an equal likelihood that they would be poisonous, at least in my world. 50/50 odds and I'm totally okay with that!

Solution? Move to Australia! Enjoy the challenges of cooking in a different season and be in horrid time zone differences to your family and I will sample away!
