august darnell AKA thomas browder (aka kid creole) was my dad's roommate at Stonybrook! that's one of the top 3 or 4 albums i grew up on in the 70s.. along with uhhhh, the Earth Wind and Fire "All'n All" album and the stevie albums from that era.

on a slight tangent do you ever check out wolfgangsvault.com? They just added an awesome Gil Scott Heron concert there among many other amazing tapes.
