I got free time, I can follow directions, and I owe you a few hours of auto work. Call if you need a set of hands.

That would be AWESOME. Shouldn't take more than 20min with two people, and the directions are easy- using breaker bar, turn crankshaft bolt counterclockwise in small increments. It just takes a long time for one person to climb out from under the truck, turn the thing 5-10 degrees, climb back under the truck, check the bolt, repeat.

Also thinking about a trip to the Pull-a-Part this weekend. Any interest?

Sure! I may not have a lot of parts needs, but I like to play.

Also, check this discussion out: http://jalopnik.com/5613908/whats-the-worst-automobile-engine-of-all-time

Memories of the iron duke in my dad's '79 monza.. the first engine I ever worked on. (Work involved crawling underneath to check if the ignition cable had some loose, and plug it back in. Which it did weekly.)
