A short walk to clear my head turned into basically circling Capital Hill. I'm kinda proud of myself. I started walking west from my apartment (12th & Elizabeth). Walked through part of Cheesman Park, then went north on High to 17th. Then I ended up taking 17th all the way to Grant. Walked down to 9th, and then took that back to Cheesman. I saw the Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie in Times Square. Oddly enough, a matinee was only $6. I guess that's the benefit of hanging out in NYC with locals. You're definitely right about the part at the beginning. When the Mastodon song (the metal part) kicked in, people were on the floor laughing. That was definitely the highlight of the movie for me.

I wish I could have gone to the Stooges show. My flight was delayed, so I didn't get home from the airport until 9:30 or so that night. And after traveling all day, I didn't want to have to hurry down to the Fillmore and try to catch their set. I also wanted to go to that show the night after (for Wolfmother, actually - I kinda like them), but Peeping Tom was playing at the Gothic and I wanted to see them more. Mike Patton + Dan the Automator = greatness.

I almost cried laughing at that part in the movie. I loved how the first group of food/beverages/whatever looked scared to death. And, like you, that was the highlight for me as well. :)

Nothing wrong with Wolfmother.. they just don't really do anything for me. I've liked Placebo since I was 16, so I was willing to tough it out to see them. Luckily I didn't have to. Glad you enjoyed the show at the Gothic.

I did see that you posted to Nichole about The Faint playing in Boulder. Is that something else you'd go see (just curious)?

Absolutely! I've been a fan of The Faint for a long time now. Back when my friend Tom used to live with Nichole, I would always sit around and talk to Nichole about how awesome The Faint is and how we needed to get Tom into them. Being that I mostly listen to metal and hardcore, I used to kind of think of them as a guilty pleasure, but then I realized one day that they are way too awesome to just be a guilty pleasure band.

But anyway, I bought tickets to the Monday show the day they went on sale. I'm pretty psyched to see them again.

If you're going to listen to something that's a bit different than what you normally do, The Faint is probably the way to go. ;) I'm going on that Monday as well. I know it's still a month away, but I'm excited to see them. The last time I did in November I was sick as a dog and didn't enjoy it as much as I would have being healthy. :P
