hm couldn't access the cnn story. i thought nelly's last two albums were good in the "poppy" way but i couldn't listen to her songs for too long, it was just too much. she's hooking up with timbaland for this album tho! i think it'll sound really good...him and missy elliott usually do good stuff together.

yeah nelly's stuff is really poppy, but it's the kind of poppy that i like. i have an affinity for good pop, and nelly seems to do it for me! i think the Timbaland collaboration will be cool for her, i guess it's just mostly this "new image" that she's got going... i dont know what to expect. I guess maybe she's going for the whole Gwen Stefani diva schtick...??

aah...i think i heard about this muslim madonna recently too. what i heard was that she's a not-so-talented britney/j-lo/christina rip-off type (or she doesn't show off her talent anyway). so i'm guessing that she's playing the persecuted-liberated-muslimgirl card (or taking advantage of it anyway), cuz otherwise no one would be interested :).

yeah that's exactly what she's doing. if you check out the cnn story they show quick little clips of her stuff... really bad. (and she's not even attractive in my opinion... if you like skeletal women, i guess she could be). but yeah, she seems to be intelligent, but i guess being an oppressed bad-ass muslimgirl is more interesting than intelligence! (or talent for that matter)

have you listened to Folklore, her second one? i actually like it more in some ways... it's a more mature album, and it's a little less "dancey".

Yea I agree. My fiancee won't listen to the first one cause he feels it's *SuPeR* poppy, but he doesn't mind folklore so much. Since I liked her first album so much, when I heard folklore I was actually kinda proud.
