Too jarring: India

I try to stay at home. Whenever I come back to India I rarely venture out. I used to think the rules and restrictions of my family's society bogged me down. I have to wear 'decent' clothing i.e. arms and legs should be covered, the neck line should be literally till the neck or higher, the fit should be loose. the body's curves should be hidden.

Oh, how horrible, especially about the horses! There were so many beggars when I visited China and it was awful because all my young cousins kept staring at them and asking us what was wrong with them. But just think, all the developed countries were like that to a certain extent at one time or another, and couldn't move past that seedy stage in their national development until they grew a large enough middle class.
