well you could either mail your payment in to the address on the ticket (money orders only) or you can go down to the court and pay it..i think. Or you can go to court and contest it..although I'm not sure how well people get out of those things.
I've never gotten a ticket (yet) so I'm not too sure but I think I know something that might help. I heard something from an exboyfriend of mine about how to keep it off your insurance... now this ex is a real dumbass so I have no idea how much truth there is to it. But... yeah. :) As far as contesting it, I can tell you that you won't get anywhere with that because of your speed (and you think she may have already reduced it) but what will probably happen if you go in person is that the judge will reduce it because you came in person. From what I understand that is pretty standard. Going to court in Columbus GA is definitely better than going to the movies so I would personally recommend that because you will be glad you decided to go. Bring a friend, and some popcorn. I'm serious.
yeah...I called my Dad while the cop was back in her car writing the ticket. He called my Mom and she called me later and they both, surprisingly, weren't mad at all...my Dad even joked with me about getting his first ticket...and my Mom said that I was "very adult" for paying my own fine.
I just have to fogure out where and when to pay said fine.
There should be a phone number somewhere on the ticket. Call as soon as possible and tell them you received a citation on Cherokee on such-and-such date. They'll ask for the citation number, they can answer any other questions you might have, and the rest is up to them. For that speed on a first offense in Columbus would probably be $80-90. You can mail in a money order or actually go to court (which would probably save you some $ as Genny said). It's really pretty simple and not a big deal at all.
